The Culture At Work

Kublu Tucktoo teaches her P2 class in their native language, Inuktitut.  There is a major effort to maintain the Inuit language and culture.  Our school is a bilingual school where Inuktitut is the language of instruction for students from Kindergarten to Grade 2. After Grade 2, students are taught in English with a period of Inuktitut per day.  One problem  related to having more instruction in Inuktitut is the shortage of  bilingual teachers and resources available in Inuktitut. The Nunavut government hopes to change that..
