Introduction to Millwright |
This program is
designed to provide the graduate with appropriate training required for entry into
positions in the millwright and maintenance operations.The training received will help students to develop an appreciation of the design and repair of industrial products. Student will be shown the concepts behind the work and instruction in the whys and hows of what they are doing and to see why certain practices are followed or avoided. Students will have to opportunity to acquire knowledge and develop basic skills used in the millwright occupation. Students will learn safe work habits and learn to work with their hands. The program is designed with classroom teaching and shop work throughout. The aim is to train individuals for work in the mining industry to maintain stationary equipment including crushers, conveyor systems, pumps, etc. A planned system of troubleshooting related to checking a machine and diagnosing a problem will be presented. This program is also designed to help the student from the first day on the job, to work with tools to move about a mine/ plant safely. |
